Can I have a mailbox without your logo?
Yes, but you need to select a domiciliation plan to have your own personal address or company address. For business activities it is highly recommended.
How do I know when I received mail?
When you receive mail in your online account, you will receive an email notification. At this time, you can login to your online mailbox and tell us what to do!
Unless you selected a “one time use” plan, in which case you will be informed by email immediately.
Is SwissMailBox partner with other companies?
Yes, we mostly use our partners infrastructures and websites like anytimemailbox, ipostal1 and others. Except for some specific “on demand” services.
Is there any problems with carriers?
Unfortunately, we have one provider that is not reliable and has bad online reputation it is DPD in Switzerland. Therefore, please kindly make sure DPD forwarding company is not used to deliver your shipments as they most likely will be delayed and returned to senders after a few months.
As of 01/01/2024, no more DPD shipment are accepted by SwissMailBox.
DPD situation will be reviewed at the end of 2023.
What services do you propose?
SwissMailBox is proposing mainly 3 types of plans :
One time use perfect to receive an order and forward it abroad when a local company can’t do it for you.
- Starter to have your SwissMailBox address with small amount of mail
- Domiciliation to have a dedicated address for you and/or your company
In addition we are helping companies to find the right local partners in Switzerland : Accountant, Lawyer, Tax and Real Estate. Feel free to contact our team for specific information.
Why do you ask me for a copy of my ID?
Basically we are creating a physical address for you, therefore our liability is to identify our renters.
U.S. postal services are requiring a specific form to be notarized, we are more flexible, but we still need to identify you as the receiver.
Note that any illegal activity or use of a mailbox for prohibited goods would be immediately stopped and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

How can I estimate my forwarding fees?
Unless you need a specific express service like DHL, Fedex, UPS, we use the national post services on a daily basis. Post services are currently the cheapest option to most destinations around the world. SwissMailBox.com is taking a small forwarding fee and a shipping rate calculator is available online at : https://www.post.ch/en/sending-parcels/domestic-parcels.
Do you offer specific services?
YES, should you have a specific need related to mail forwarding, consolidation or administrative work feel free to contact us.
For mass mailing, we take care of stamps and can add your logo or brand name printed on mails. We can customize information on the envelopes according to your needs. All the contents are sent either to you or your clients just the way you want it.
We are also consolidating mails to save fees on DHL and Fedex, e.g. receiving multiple samples and packing them together for express mail dispatch.
Can you scan everything?
Usually, yes.
However we try to avoid : advertisements, catalogs, presentation folders (except cover letter), books and oversized items.
For parcels, we usually just take a picture and specify size and weight. We can open it on demand and take pictures of the content as well.
How do I pay for your services?
SwissMailBox.com is conveniently using Credit Card for recurring monthly payments.
However, if you are interested by a yearly payment, we support bank wire SWIFT/SEPA, Twint, Apple Pay,Bitcoins and Etherums.
Will you open my mail?
Only if you ask us to do so. If you tell us to open and scan your mail, we will open the envelope and scan in the contents in full color.
We do open shipments with goods for export when we need to sign custom declaration (CN22 or CN23) on your behalf. We remind you that we do have a list of prohibited goods : drugs, firearms, live animals. Please ask us in case of doubt.
How long do I need to wait to have my mail processed ?
During the last year, 100% of the incoming mails have been processed within the 24 hours following their physical distribution at our mailbox.
Do you forward physical mail and packages?
Yes, we do what you instruct us to do : scan, shred, forward.
We can use regular postal services as well as specialized companies like FedEx, DHL, TNT, UPS …

Do you ship and forward everything?
We provide tailor-made specific services, but we carefully respect all laws and regulations of each country.
The goods designated below are IN NO WAY supported by SWISSMAILBOX.COM for their transport. It is a political decision taking into account all possible implications in terms of Operational, Legal and Risk Management.
- Live animals
- Hunting trophies, parts of animal origin such as ivory, shark fins and animal flesh, animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption, the movements of which are controlled by CITES Convention and / or local law.
- Human remains or ashes.
- Ingots (whatever the metal).
- Currencies (current legal tender).
- Precious and semi-precious stones in bulk.
- Complete firearms, ammunition, explosives / explosive devices.
- Illegal goods such as counterfeits and narcotics
- Antiques (breakable and / or fragile)
- Asbestos
- Human remains, including ashes
- Furs
- Dangerous or combustible materials (as defined by the IATA Regulations)
- Counterfeits (shoes, clothes, bags, watches, branded products)
Any goods the transport of which is prohibited by law, regulation or legislation of a federal, national or local government of a country to or to which the shipment is shipped.
